A positive demeanour, combined with a progressive commitment to an optimal quality of life, is catchy. Our residents work happily with anyone who will work with them – and so do all in our village. At Logwood that includes members of the broader community.

Situated in the heart of an area in which there are several impoverished communities, Logwood Village offers the use of its infrastructure and facilities, where relevant, to people living nearby.

The protective workshop is a veritable buzz of productivity, where residents meticulously labour over the greatest detail, and complete their work with pride - and the simple determination to succeed in the face of life’s vicissitudes. Members of the community also work here, since it offers an opportunity for impoverished folk from the surrounding areas to earn an income. This partnership has produced a vibrant workforce of both disabled and disadvantaged people.

The workshop fulfils several purposes:

Contracts with several businesses.

It offers the opportunity of employment to people in the neighbouring communities. Annually the workshop ploughs back +/- R800 000 to these communities.
It encourages productivity, stimulation and a sense of worth for residents who, at the end of their happy toil, earn an income for themselves.
To assist in the sustainability of Logwood Village itself.
