Caveman’s Corner

My major hope is that we can indeed make Logwood into a village, with its own culture of respect, and services that will make every resident and member of staff feel that they belong to a community.

In this regard, we have already made some big strides. Logwood now has its own gym! This is a fully function professional gym donated in full by Virgin Active. I am at present negotiating with some of the professional trainers at Sandton Virgin Active to come out and set up simple programmes for each resident so that they all can be involved and be members of Logwood’s gym. In addition to the gym, we have a library of some seven thousand movies and TV series on video, and are hoping to set up a video store for the residents and staff of Logwood Village.

We need shelving, video recorders and a computer that can log each video in and out. We also need someone who has the expertise and time to set up the system, and sort out the videos.  If we can sort it out, we will then have a gym and video store. This then leads to the third step, a tea room-coffee shop for the residents and staff and parents to meet and socialize in. We have received a donation of all the furniture to create this and now need someone to help set it up and get it going.

As you can see, we can all achieve a lot if we communicate and become involved, but without your involvement we can achieve only small steps.

If you feel you have anything to contribute, be it time, money, expertise or facilities, please get involved.  Together we really can make Logwood into a village where all would love to live.
